Statement of Purpose
As a Governing Body our purpose is to help improve outcomes for the children at Priors Field Primary School. We provide support and challenge to the school in its journey towards excellence through our core functions as governors:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction through the delivery of the School Action Plan.
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and the performance management of staff; and
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
Governing Board Strategic Statement
This strategy statement reflects the board’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who thrive academically, socially, and personally. The Governing Board will support the school in achieving the following aims:
1. Excellence in Teaching and Curriculum: The board emphasises the importance of rigorous and innovative teaching methods, ensuring that every child receives a high-quality education. This commitment to excellence extends beyond the classroom to extra-curricular activities.
2. Resource Management: The board recognises the significance of sustainable resources including finance, physical assets and skills. Investing wisely in these assets, will help deliver the optimum educational experience.
3. Growth and Development: Priors Field School values the growth of every pupil, individually and collectively. The school’s values and behaviours are actively lived, fostering a supportive culture where everyone is prepared for life beyond the classroom.
4. Champion and Advocate: The Governing Board promotes the school both internally and externally, positioning it as a centre of excellence.
