Christmas Decoration Morning

Christmas Decoration Morning - December 24

It was lovely to see so many parents at our Christmas decoration morning in Reception and KS1 today.  I hope you enjoyed getting glittery and being creative with the children. KS2 also had a great morning making Christmas decorations in their class.

Art Week - October 24

We’ve had a very busy week at school with our Art Week. The children have been outside on the field, sketching our PFP tree, making sculptures and mobiles. While drawing, they applied concepts explored during Art Week, such as proportion, tone, and shadows through shading. I hope you will enjoy a walk around school  during parents’ evenings, to see the art work on display.

F1 Club

F1 Regional Final in Birmingham - February 24

On Friday 9th February the teams from F1 Club took part in the Regional Final at Aston University, Birmingham. The children had a great day and came home buzzing with confidence and proud of their achievements. Track Attackers came 1st and Streamline Sneakers 3rd. Both teams successfully qualified for the National Final in Rotherham on 12th March. They won awards for Team Identity, Pit Display, Fastest Reaction Time and Portfolio Design. Well done to all the children and thank you Mr Freeman, Mrs Bull and Mrs FM for supporting the children on the day.

F1 National Final in Rotherham - March 24

Mr Freeman, Mrs Bull and Mrs Gane had a great day at the Science Park in Rotherham for the F1 in Schools National Final. It was an early start for both teams, the Streamline Sneakers and Track Attackers. As soon as we arrived at the Science Centre we had to get the pit-stop display ready and give one of our cars to the judges. We then went to the briefing and each team received a schedule for the day. There were 44 teams from all the regional winners across the UK and also Hong Kong! The first event was the judging of the pit-stop display and the teams met the judges and talked about their display and project. They then had a chance to look at the other team’s displays before presenting their design and engineering portfolio. Just before lunch the children raced their cars and met the presenters live online. Unfortunately, suddenly everyone had to be evacuated from the building due to a fire alarm but the children soon returned to finish racing their cars before lunch. The final event was the team presentation. Both teams were fantastic and did their very best with tough competition. Streamline Sneakers were nominated in the top three for ‘Team Identity’ and got onto the podium winning the ‘Research & Development’ Award! A fantastic finale to a great project. Well done everyone!

British Science Week - March 24

As part of British Science Week 2024, the whole school has taken part in Science activities this morning, relating to time. There have been investigations about how long it takes jelly to set, how long cress takes to grow, the life cycle of a frog and also thinking to the future and how to provide a sustainable planet. It has been great to see all the children actively involved in science activities.
